History
This stacking chair is part of the “Series 7” (1955). This model, which is also known as the “butterfly chair” for its soft and graceful lines, added a great deal to the modernization of Scandinavian furnishings. This represents a classic example research of forms and materials: a simple structure in tubular steel and a single shell in bent plywood. It is a theme many looked into, especially during those particular years. This is considered one of the most successful chairs in the history of design. It is estimated that more than five million copies were made of it, and its success shows no signs of decreasing. Stacking chair with polished chrome tubular steel frame. Shell in bent beech wood, natural or lacquered.
