History
This armchair was designed for the Madame Mathieu-Lévy’s apartment in Rue de Lota. Ironically called it “Bibendum” due to the resemblance in shape with the popular symbol of Michelin. This armchair shows the stylistic turn, known until then for the use of precious materials and oriental lacquers, as well as for original and eccentric forms. The ironic touch remains, but the line and the materials attest migration towards the more severe and austere Modernism. Polished chrome tubular steel base. Interior bent wood frame. Crushproof polyurethane foam padding. Leather upholstery.
Description
